Nausea due to overeating
Eating too much obstructs the normally downward flow of digestive energy (Qi). Herbs such as hawthorn berry, radish seed, rice sprout, barley sprout, medicated leaven, and others are used to dissolve food stagnation. We know that some of these herbs promote the flow of digestive acids and enzymes.
Alcohol Consumtion, Hangover Nausea
Drinking too much heats (inflames) the liver, causing the condition known as Liver Invades Stomach. This results in an upward flow of both stomach and liver qi. This can cause both nausea and headache as the stomach channel and branches of the liver channel ascend to the head. Treating a hangover requires herbs that soothe the liver, like chrysanthemum or white peony root, combined with herbs that dry dampness, such as cardamom or atractylodes. Patchouli, immature citrus peel, and other herbs are added to increase the downward flow of Qi.
Chemotherapy and Nausea
There is, of course, nothing in ancient Chinese medical literature about chemotherapy or any other modern-day drugs causing nausea. Nevertheless, this kind of nausea is related to liver toxicity of any kind. However, some of these toxins are far more immediately powerful than alcohol. Stomach Curing pills will relieve nausea in many of these cases, however some people will require a specialized medicine or a customized formula (these are most commonly made made after consulting with a Chinese herbalist).
Morning Sickness and Nausea During Pregnancy
Pregnancy requires that herbs be used with care. Experience shows that there are many herbs that are unsafe to take during pregnancy. These included most of the herbs in the Vitalize Blood category, such as: Safflower (Hong Hua), Peach Pit Kernel (Tao Ren), and many others. These herbs could cause miscarriage. Fortunately, most herbs that treat morning sickness, or nausea during pregnancy do not fall into this category.
Though there are many herbs and herbal medicines that treat morning sickness and nausea during pregnancy, the universal favorite, throughout Asia, are Curing Pills, also known as Pill Curing, or Po Chai pills. There are many brands of imported Chinese versions of the Curing Pill, however it is not recommended to prescribe these imported medicines for pregnant women, as their exact ingredients are often not correctly listed on the label. This is what makes Dr. Shen's Stomach Curing Pills is a much safer alternative – these medicines are made and tested in the USA and use top-grade herbs. Obviously, lead and other heavy metals are a concern for everyone, and especially for pregnant women. There are currently no FDA standards for heavy metals in herbal medicines. Though all fruits, vegetables and whole herbs have trace amounts of lead, Curing pills meet all International and California Proposition 65 standards for naturally occurring lead. Since they have been scrutinized by the State of California, you will find Prop 65 lead warnings on the label. You can be assured that this product is absolutely safe for everyone, including pregnant women. That's why you'll find Dr. Shen's Stomach Curing Pills in many Whole Foods Markets and many other highly discerning retail stores.
